WITTMANN further extends successful cooperation concept
for technical vocational training in Germany
The technology company SCHÜTZ and the Kunststoff-Institut Lüdenscheid (KIMW) are new cooperation partners of WITTMANN in Germany in technical vocational training for future service technicians. Applications for the next apprenticeship program can still be lodged.
“With this apprenticeship cooperation, we are securing well-trained skilled personnel in areas where we are unable to offer in-house vocational training at our own company”, says Michael Hinz, Training Manager of WITTMANN BATTENFELD Deutschland and Managing Director of the Meinerzhagen facility. “Cooperation in apprenticeship means that we take the training facilities to the young people.”
For the coming training year, two apprenticeship positions are available in Germany. In cooperation with SCHÜTZ GmbH & Co. KGaA based in Selters, WITTMANN is planning to train an electronics technician. Jointly with the KIMW in Lüdenscheid, an apprenticeship position in the field of plastics and rubber technology is vacant.
Win-win situation for all parties involved
Following successful completion of training after 3 or 3,5 years, the apprentices are almost certain to be granted a start-up position at the WITTMANN Group in technical service or application technology – with the long-term perspective and worldwide advancement opportunities of a leading global player. “Service technicians will benefit from a great variety of different tasks, an excellent salary and attractive fringe benefits, such as a company car which can also be used privately”, says Hinz.
Most of the apprenticeship will take place in the modern training facilities and technical centers of SCHÜTZ and KIMW. Simultaneously, the apprentices will be integrated into the teams of WITTMANN BATTENFELD Deutschland at the facilities in Meinerzhagen and Nuremberg. In this way, the trainees will be familiarized with various fields and methods of practical work right from the start. The cooperation partners will also benefit, since, after completing their apprenticeships, the young career starters will serve their former training companies as service technicians. There, they can be employed very effectively from the very first day, for they will already be well acquainted with the production equipment and production staff on site.
More cooperation partners welcome
Already five years ago, WITTMANN in Germany decided to organize apprenticeships jointly with partner companies located in regions with anticipated future staffing needs. Their first partner was the electronics company WAGO. The first graduate from this cooperation is now permanently employed at WITTMANN, working as a service technician.
WITTMANN in Germany is open for cooperation with more partners. This is all about technical apprenticeships in the fields of mechatronics, electronics or plastics and rubber technology.
Traditionally, technical apprenticeships have a high priority within the WITTMANN Group. At its facilities in Nuremberg, Meinerzhagen and Kottingbrunn (Austria), WITTMANN offers in-house vocational training for both technical and business-related careers.
