operating company with 7 production facilities and 28 branch offices in all major plastics markets in the world.

2014
Commissioning of the new WITTMANN BATTENFELD assembly hall in Kottingbrunn, and increasing of the Kottingbrunn capacity for the production of large machines.

2013
Extension of the production capacity at WITTMANN Kunststoffgeräte GmbH in Vienna: start-up of the new metal sheet forming department. Extension of the headquarters of the WITTMANN BATTENFELD subsidiary in Torrington, CT, USA.

2012
Founding of WiBa Colombia.
Extensions of WITTMANN BATTENFELD India in Chennai, WITTMANN Germany in Nuremberg/Feucht, and WITTMANN BATTENFELD in Kottingbrunn (Austria).

2011
WITTMANN BATTENFELD CZ is moving to a new and bigger plant.

2010
Product launches of the new WITTMANN BATTENFELD PowerSeries.

2009
Ground-breaking ceremony for the new WITTMANN BATTENFELD sales and service center in Meinerzhagen, Germany.

2008
The mold-making and granulator department of WITTMANN France is moving to the new 4,000 sq.m. plant in Chassal.
On April 1. WITTMANN takes over the BATTENFELD Kunststoffmaschinen Ges.m.b.H. at Kottingbrunn (Lower Austria). The syndication leads to the completion of both product lines – WITTMANN auxiliary equipment and injection molding machines by WITTMANN BATTENFELD –, providing the advantage plastics processors have been looking for in terms of a seamless combination of processing machines, automation and auxiliary equipment.

Concentration of the production activities at the Kottingbrunn facility.
Further development of the BATTENFELD brand’s traditional strengths remains the essential success factor for the future development of BATTENFELD Injection Molding Technology.

ISO 9001 certification.

1991
BATTENFELD develops and manufactures the world’s largest injection molding machine with 8,000 t clamping force.

1983
BATTENFELD introduces compact machinery in all clamping force sizes, including modular automation equipment.

1977
BATTENFELD is taken over by Schloemann Siemag AG (SMS).

1962
Acquisition of the HMW plant in Kottingbrunn, Austria and establishment of a second production company to manufacture injection molding machines.

1959
Establishment of subsidiaries in the U.S. and in the UK; with rapid international growth in the following years.

1954
Opening of a new production plant in Scherl/Meinerzhagen. BATTENFELD Injection Molding Technology begins its worldwide expansion.

1948
Werner Battenfeld becomes the sole proprietor of the family-owned company and establishes BATTENFELD Injection Molding Technology.

1876
Establishment of a smithy and wrought metal workshop by the grandfather of Werner Battenfeld.
